Throughout the semester I learned so much it's hard to keep track. I also connected in so many ways with my work that I never have before. For example, when I found out about the multi-genre project I had no idea what it was until she explained it because I have never done one before until UWRT 1102. Also, when I started my blog I wasn't sure if I was going to do it correctly because I have never created one before; I have just read them. Here is some examples of my work that I have done and learned from.
Gorgeous Commercial (In-class)
My first entry is from January 22nd, 2015. We watched a gorgeous commercial for a new car and then had to figure out what the creator's purpose was, who the target audience was, what reasons they gave their audience to persuade them, and what the values/concerns were. I picked this piece because this was very difficult for me to answer each question correctly. Every answer that I gave to each question was wrong so I had to learn how to correctly identify the purpose, target audience, etc.
This piece had me asking myself, "What am I doing wrong?" "Am I that stupid that I can't get the right answers?" because what I thought the author's purpose was actually was the exact opposite of what everybody else's answer was.

Practice with Ethos, Pathos, and Logos
My next entry is from January 28th, 2015. In one class my teacher started talking about Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. I was like, "What even are those words?". I have never heard of them before so this had me thinking a lot. Pathos refers to emotional appeal, Ethos refers to establishing the character of the product, and Logos is an appeal to logic or reason. I learned that these three words describe almost anything.
This piece of learning can help me in any other English classes I have to take or just with writing in general. These three words can easily describe anything.

My First Blog Post Draft
My third daybook entry is from March 10th, 2015. Writing this draft at first was pretty easy for me because I just kept writing and referring back to the article. When it came time for peer reviews I realized my blog post wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Before class I thought my draft was pretty good and that I covered all the main points, but the feedback I received didn't tell me that. Instead, it told me that it was a good starting point, but it was considered listy and I needed to provide more detail.
I picked this post because it shows that I was able to fix my mistakes and make my draft the best it can be. Also, from that I learned that the first draft isn't always the best one.
